we are joel and vanessa. j&v was founded by joel pérez, a dreamer, entrepreneur, and family man who discovered his passion for christmas lighting over 10 years ago. what began as a simple idea quickly became something more meaningful: a way to bring joy, beauty, and warmth to homes through light.

from the very beginning, j&v was a family effort. vanessa and johnny, joel’s wife and son, joined him in building the business, turning each project into a shared experience rooted in care and connection. what started as a small operation soon grew into a family-driven mission.

since 2020, j&v has continued to expand across the chicago area, helping families and businesses transform their spaces and celebrate the season. today, we remain grounded in the same spirit we started with: bringing people together through light.
